i am not ashamed

All my life I’ve heard music, sung music, and loved music.

But never have I written music.

A couple months ago I wrote a couple “songs”. In reality, they were poems that I envisioned going really well with music. I had no way whatsoever to know what chords they would sound good with.

Then, tonight, my friend Timmy Clifton brought his guitar over to my house.

I told him about the “song” poems.

We sat down, he dreamed up chords, and I sung along.

It was beautiful. The recording turned out great, the lyrics are heartfelt, and the chords are pulsating and they hook you in right away.

Praise God for music!

I’m going to have Josh listen to this ASAP. Maybe we can sing it at Unplugged….?

Sure, the wrapping is lovely

Like the first breeze before a tornado

You cheer up everyone within range.

You love God, anyone can see.

You’re lavish with kindness

A smile permanently graces your lips

Random comedic comments are your forte

Sometimes I wish you knew

That sitting next to you in class

I’m tempted to reach over and grab your hand

And just hold it.

Because I think you’re amazing.

Never change.
